Founded in 1851, the New York Times is a Pulitzer Prize-winning New York-based newspaper with worldwide influence and readership. It’s largely regarded as the standard for newspapers that are “newspapers of record,” and has thrived as both a digital and print medium in an age of decreasing readership of printed periodicals. As of September 2016, it had the largest combined print-and-digital circulation of any daily newspaper in the United States. The New York Times is ranked 18th in the world by circulation.
